I'm deeply sad to see the P-I go. I'm so grateful for all the wonderful people I got a chance to work with. I'll miss the feedback from readers and, hell yes, having my meals paid for. It's been a great two years. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Stay tuned for the details.

Tuesday morning update: As I was walking back home from picking up extra copies of the final print Seattle Post-Intelligencer, my head fuzzy from last night's wake at Buckley's, I got a text message from an author I really respect offering to introduce me to her agent. How freaking cool is that? I'm smiling through my tears.

From critic to creator; good luck Leslie!
Good luck, Leslie! Look forward to eating your food:).
It's great to see you've got some exciting things in the works already. Way to go, Leslie.
good luck in your new adventures. I will miss your column but am so glad that your blog was mentioned in the issue today. Yay for your new adventure with Tom Douglas. I cannot imagine anything finer.
Good for you, Leslie! I've really enjoyed reading your reviews (Yelp and Trip Advisor are great, but I like to hear what an expert has to say).
Best wishes on the chef front. I'm only a home cook, but I've worked in my share of 'big' kitchens, so my only advice is to WEAR GOOD SHOES. For me, that would be Dansko footwear, but whatever is comfortable, keeps you from slipping, and protects your toes from sharp stuff is a good thing.
Leslie- we will miss reading your columns. Good luck in your new venture!
Way to go, Leslie! Based on my own experience working in a restaurant, I'm pretty sure you are going to have an amazing time and learn a ton.
